So I finally did it. I finally applied for my passport and it'll take 3-4 weeks for it to arrive. Only the fact that the US changed their law on requiring passports which caused a huge delay in the processing of apps here and the potential of trips on the horizon that will require a passport has it finally nudged me to get my act together to finally get one. Is there a better example of a procrastinator or what? Thankfully the hours I work this week made it easy to pop into the passport office and wait in line to get it all done. So another thing that I can cross off my to do list. Which is a relief for someone slowly recovering from a cold. I must be an adult coz half the time I was worrying about stuff I had to do and couldn't stay home without feeling guilty. Whatever happened to being sick like a kid and just enjoying from not having to be wherever you have to be and getting to watch crap daytime tv?

At the moment am absolutely loving the latest Snow Patrol CD, Eyes Open. I downloaded the album awhile ago but heard Chasing Cars recently again that got me hooked and then started discovering all the other wonderful songs on the album so I'm just in love with it now. I think it's better than Final Straw. I feel kinda bad that I just downloaded it and didn't buy the disc to support them....but I downloaded the Japan version which has bonus tracks and of course if I'm going to buy the CD I want the same one....but I don't want to pay for a Japanese import. Why do CDs have to cost so much?! I seem to also have a fascination these days with music documentaries. Watched Shut Up & Sing with the Dixie Chicks and then for a 180, Metallica's Some Kind of Monster. Watching bands in the studio and seeing part of the process of making an album is just so interesting and fascinating. I'm sure to the next person it's about as interesting as picking glued down coins from the ground but for me I'm now all interested in the producers behind the albums. Can't wait to hear the forthcoming REM album that's supposed to be produced by Garrett Lee who did Eyes Open too.

Am I going to need a cookie everyday?
It's probably part exhaustion part stress and also probably part hormones but throw them all together and I'm just bleh when I finally get home from work and I have more studying to look forward to. And all I can think or whine is more like it is that I want a cookie. And although I'm loving the warm weather we're finally having I'm also really hating the potholes. By the time my car stutters in the driveway it'll be soon ready to fall apart coz I think there's a huge ass pothole that's unavoidable on every street I'm on. If it's not a pothole then I have some genius leftover job for some road construction previously done that suffice to say is not a smooth drive over....it's quite something else and bumpy is putting a positive spin on it. Honestly would it kill them to do a better job...it'd be even better if the job wasn't so horrible that it actually required a bumpy road sign right beside the disaster area. Honestly.

Well at least my computer hasn't imploded, nor has any other electronic item in my house. Planes aren't dropping out of the sky, it is not pure chaos outside. On the other hand it almost seems a lot of things are still an hour behind. My computer didn't automatically switch to DST and I'm seeing a lot of timestamps on websites or whatever still at the old time. Although at least my car's clock will finally be the right time when I get into it for the morning commute tomorrow. I'm not sure if an earlier DST is all that beneficial....I have my skepticism on just how much energy it really saves us, but above all the most important thing is I lose an hour of blissful sleep!!

Procrastinating as usual from studying and surfing through Myspace. Looking at one particular band's "space" that I came across. I don't mean to be a cynic or cruel because I've seen the same thing on various other random spaces before but I can't help think.....when I see that some big name band or artist, ie Silverchair, Nine Inch Nails or whatever is among your Friends.....well I can't help sit there and think, I wonder who's the industry machine monkey who had to click on some link to add Big Name Band A as a "friend" to no name person B's list of friends. Sure it's cool to think that I'm friends with Trent Reznor or Tori Amos but really what blue moon would have to be in the sky before one of them actually rung me up to see if I wanna grab a midnight bite with them? I'm sure someone is reading this and saying I'm missing the whole point and the very idea of thinking that you're chummy buddies with superstar A that can help build self-esteem for common person B and blah blah blah. But how's it any different from believing in Santa Claus? It's like believing in Santa Claus only you're 20. Yee-ah. So I'm a cruel cynic. Boo hoo.

My latest random thoughts:
  1. I think I'm beginning to appreciate Starbucks as much as my coworker. Already love Cinnamon Dolce Latte and my newest addition to my favourites is the Caramel Apple Cider. Some ppl eat for comfort. I cope with stress by getting myself charged with caffeine...which when you think about it may not be the best combination.....especially when you're running on a grande cinnamon dolce latte. That's a whole lotta coffee compared to a tall I've now realized.
  2. I'm quite annoyed with people that like to give me advice....advice where I can't help but passively fume inside my head and scream well isn't that the pot calling the kettle black. Oh so extremely and utterly annoying. Very annoying. Did I mention how annoyed I am?
  3. Can't remember if it was Blender or some other British mag.....Portishead apparently will be releasing a new album in summer 2007???!
  4. Being a lawyer is definitely not in the cards for me. The section I'm studying about legislations on the securities markets is freakin wordy and bores me to my skull.
  5. I love, love, LOVE Grey's Anatomy. I think in the last week I whipped through season 2....which has like 27 episodes I think. I'm not sure if I've watched anything else that fast. And I'm considering of buying the DVDs to watch it all over again. Seriously.
